In November, Constantina hosts its long-awaited Mycological Days, organised by the Mycological Society “Sierra Norte de Sevilla” in collaboration with the Town Council of Constantina.
This experience, together with the incomparable setting of the Sierra Norte Natural Park in which they are held, with its natural, gastronomic and cultural resources, has given this initiative the success and consolidation it already enjoys.
What began in 1996 as a meeting of friends united by their love of going out into the countryside to collect specimens, sharing their findings and organising tastings among themselves, gave rise to the birth of a society which, at first, organised information days to raise awareness of the colourful world of mushrooms and fungi, which are gastronomically delicious, but also dangerous due to the toxicity of some specimens.
Today they have become an unmissable event that brings together a large number of visitors who come to enjoy the days themselves, the charms that Constantina offers and the parallel activities that complement the offer that weekend.
Lovers of mycology and nature will be able to enjoy a whole series of programmed activities that include conferences by experts, exhibitions and, of course, field trips, all related to this exciting world of fungi in these XXIII Jornadas Micológicas de Constantina (23rd Mycological Days of Constantina).
Participation in all the activities is free of charge, only the guided field trip requires prior registration, for which there is a deadline for registration close to the date of the event.
