Exposición Etnográfica

ACAM is a non-profit organisation, made up of a group of Constantinian people
group of Constantinians with the aim of preserving our past but, above all, with a great commitment to our future. This exhibition is a collection of artistic and ethnographic heritage that reflects how we were and how we have become what we are.

In the first room, a series of general themes have been developed: weights and measures, where different systems for measuring length, weight, and capacity for liquids and solids are exhibited, as well as other more specific ones; image and sound, with an interesting selection of radios, projectors and cameras; festivals and traditions, showing bullfighting posters and old programmes of festivities in our town, highlighting the three heads of giants and big-heads that animated the streets in those days; toys, an extensive display of mechanical toys made of lithographed tinplate manufactured in those years; and school and office material, including a collection of typewriters and a filing cabinet from 1792, the oldest piece in the exhibition.

Then we find different thematic rooms, which are as follows:

Agro-food industries: where there is room for the traditional and famous liqueur and
and famous liquor and meat industries.
Traditional trades: with a wide selection of farming implements, a carpentry
tools, a carpentry workshop and a shoe shop.
Other trades: a space dedicated to local businesses, such as the
Alcaraz confectionery or the Ordóñez barbershop that thrills our local visitors.
our local visitors.
At home: in this last room, objects from the home are displayed, ranging from a cooler to a bedroom, coffee pots, grinders, irons and sewing machines.

This project has been promoted by ACAM, which is a non-profit organisation formed by a group of Constantinians with the aim of preserving our past but, above all, with a great commitment to our future. In short, a varied collection of pieces that we can show thanks to the generosity of our neighbours and the Town Council of Constantina.
